Styrofoam

Mint relies heavily on EPS (Expanded Polystyrene or “Styrofoam”) as the basis for most of its decorative works.  It is a versatile material that is easily sculpted and shaped into all sorts of forms and provides a quick way to prepare models that can then be molded and used for fiberglass production.

Mint has world class sculptors along with a 7-axis CNC sculpting robot that allows us to carve and sculpt the most exquisite pieces in exceptional detail.

EPS also provides the basis for the EIFS system which allows us to deliver artistic pieces and decorative claddings using the EPS as a carved substrate which is then coated with specialty materials that can serve as a hard, protective layer while still maintaining the underlying sculpted form.  Mint is able to do rock works, bricks, and various types of wall claddings using EIFS (External Insulation Finishing System).

Mint uses EPS for a wide range of purposes and we continue to invest in innovative composite materials and new ways to take advantage of its unique properties for theming and decorative works.
